As advertised on the Chipping Norton Community Orchard page of this website, the annual Apple Day will be celebrated there on Sunday, October 20th, from 12 noon to 3 p.m. Folk music group Franglais will entertain, and Phil the Bodger will show off his woodturning skills on his traditional pole lathe. We hope the ancient Wassailing rites that all are invited to join in on will ensure a “20-20” harvest next year, with the production of fruit – plus fruit pies and cakes – as delicious as those you will have the chance to sample at this year’s festival.
There will be activities for the children, who are also invited to help the grown-ups to press apples and taste the result. Bring your own fruit if you have any, and take away the juice, which is a nice way to finish off an enjoyable visit!
There is full information on how to get to the Orchard on foot or by car, and on the limited parking available, near the bottom of the Orchard webpage
